This FPV simulator is still in development, but it already shows a lot of potential. The developers are clearly putting in real effort, and it shows in the overall experience. Flying feels smooth and enjoyable, which is the most important part for this type of game.

Even though there are still things to improve, the foundation is solid, and it's exciting to see where this project will go. Great job by the developers so far - definitely worth trying if you're into FPV flying.

I came in with zero experience and couldnt even hover. I hooked up my Radio Master to the PC and after about 4 hours of practicing altitude control and hitting targets, something clicked.

I tried my real drone right after and I could actually fly it. The physics are legit enough that the muscle memory carries over to the real world.

If you want to learn FPV without the cost of real-life crashes, this is it. 10/10 training tool and a great game.

This game is pretty good and I am glad to have bought it. Despite being basically the frame of a game it has a good foundation to become a realistic FPV simulator. It is made in Unity so there are many ways the current structure of the game can be improved and I really hope the developer makes the most of their learning process.

The input response is excellent and the flight model is pretty accurate at low altitudes, I felt it was maybe a bit too easy to avoid detection by dive bombing but maybe that's just because I have never been in a real combat situation and am an armchair tactician.

There is nothing really extravagant in the game overall, the developer seems to be mostly a 3D modelling artist, with an interest in interfacing drones with a controller, and a focused on short term applicability to release. It is very realistic in the sense that it really feels like it was baked from the Ukrainian SBU office to make become competent at flying FPV drones. But jokes aside, with a few years of polish this game could become a solid tactical sim that includes FPV drone warfare as a main component.

It seems it was developed around concerns brought up by Ukrainian FPV drone combat pilots, or what kind of things they wish they could fine tune in a simulation to make it a good training environment.

Great simulator, not gonna even call it a game.

This is a dual purpose tool, which can be used for fun to fly around in a combat setting, as well as prepare real-life FPV drone operators.

Graphics: 5/10. Not great, but made simple in order to optimize the scale of maps. The maps are quite large which is something great, because IRL most operators spend most of their time flying large distances to their targets. Optimization and beautiful graphics are not needed.

Controls: 7/10 A bit weird, but the main inputs of my RadioMaster Pocket controller it recognizes. For some reason, you can't arm the drone and you need to press spacebar on the keyboard (at least those are my settings). As for the drone controls in the game, yes, they do feel realistic. Especially with the payload that the drone is carrying on it, you can feel how it impacts the controls and makes it somewhat similar to a real FPV drone.

Gameplay and mechanics: 9/10

FAQ: Alles, was du über FPV Battleground wissen musst

WHAT MAKES FPV BATTLEGROUND DIFFERENT FROM OTHER FPV SIMULATORS?
Unlike racing simulators (Liftoff or VelociDrone), FPV Battleground focuses on tactical search and target engagement. We simulate real combat conditions: operating under electronic warfare (EW) measures, radio horizon effects, ammunition weight management, and complex ballistics.
DOES THE SIMULATOR SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL RADIO CONTROLLERS?
Yes. FPV Battleground is built for PC and supports USB connections so you can use compatible real transmitters and sticks. Supported protocols and hardware evolve with updates—check the Steam store page for the latest list and setup notes.
HOW IS THE FLIGHT PHYSICS IMPLEMENTED?
Flight physics blends tuned rotor and airframe behaviour with constraints from terrain, loadout, and flight mode. The goal is believable tactical FPV—energy management, attitude changes, and impulse responses—rather than arcade racing feel.
WHAT IS EW (ELECTRONIC WARFARE) SIMULATION IN THE GAME?
EW models contested radio conditions—links can fade, glitch, or drop when stressed—so you train to fly with tighter margins, as you would under jamming, poor RF, or hostile spectrum use.
HOW ARE THE TERRAIN AND SIGNAL TRANSMISSION IMPLEMENTED IN THE SIMULATOR?
Terrain uses collision and elevation so altitude and masking affect line of sight. Signal follows simplified radio rules—obstacles and the horizon can attenuate or block your video and control link, reinforcing tactical positioning.
IN WHICH REGIONS IS THE FPV BATTLEGROUND SIMULATOR AVAILABLE?
Anywhere Steam sells PC games for your account region. Create a Steam account, open the store in your country, and check the FPV Battleground page for availability, pricing, and system requirements.
HOW TO OBTAIN FREE KEYS FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES (FOR THE ARMED FORCES, FOUNDATIONS, OR MEDIA)?
Use the access request section on this site (Request access / Запит доступу). Pick the role that matches you (media, military representative, or collaboration), fill in your details, and submit—we review institutional and educational requests individually.
